SELF. is a private self-portrait photography studio. The professional camera, lighting, and setup are ready when you arrive. Use the wireless remote to take your own photos and see each photo live on screen as you shoot.

No. That’s the whole point of SELF. Studios NYC. Your camera and professional lighting are already set up for you. You’ll use a wireless remote to take your own photos, giving you complete control over your poses, timing, and session. If you need help, a studio assistant is available to get you started.

Yes. You can take your own photos using the wireless remote, or have a friend take them for you. It’s your session, so you can switch between both whenever you want.

Yes. That’s the whole SELF. experience. You control the camera with a wireless remote, so you decide exactly when each photo is taken.

No. The professional camera and lighting are already set up for you. Just pose, press the remote, check your photo on the screen, and keep creating.

No. SELF. is designed to give you control of your shoot without a photographer in the room directing every photo.

Yes. An assistant will be available if you need help with the camera, equipment, setup, or have a question during your session.

Essential includes our Pure White Backdrop. Creative gives you more flexibility with your setup. Depending on your selection, you can choose white and creative, colored and creative, or other available Creative setup combinations.

Yes. Outfit changes are unlimited during your session. If you’re doing multiple looks, we suggest arriving with your first look already on so you can start shooting right away. The quicker you change between looks, the more shooting time you’ll have and the more photos you can get in.

Yes. Bring your playlist and set the vibe for your session.

Essential and Creative both start with 30 minutes. During booking, you can choose Make It 60 Minutes or Make It 2 Hours to extend your total session time.

The final 10 minutes of your session are reserved for selecting your 2 complimentary 5×7 prints.

Yes. If you opt out of your complimentary prints, you can use your entire reserved session time for shooting.

We suggest arriving 5–10 minutes before your scheduled session so you’re ready to begin on time.

Your session still ends at its originally scheduled time. Late arrivals do not extend your session.

Yes. Rescheduling must be requested at least 24 hours before your scheduled session and is subject to availability.

You can cancel, but SELF. sessions are non-refundable. Cancellations and no-shows forfeit the payment.

Your SELF. session is paid in full when you book. Any add-ons will be paid in person at the studio.

Yes. You keep every unedited photo you take during your SELF. session.

The photos included with your session are unedited. Professional retouching can be purchased separately for any images you want professionally finished.

Your private online gallery will be emailed within 24 hours after your session.

Your photos are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download them.

Your gallery remains available for 3 months. Please download and back up your photos before it expires.

Yes. Professional retouching is available for $25 per image with a typical 3–5 business day turnaround.

Your session includes 2 complimentary 5×7 prints. You may also opt out of the prints and use your full session time for shooting.

Prints are generally ready 1–2 hours after your session. You can pick them up later that day or schedule another pickup time.

Yes. Your prints can be shipped for $8.

Yes. Additional 5×7 prints are $10 each.

Creative sessions may include different backdrop or setup combinations depending on what you select. Any setup change that happens during your session uses part of your reserved session time.

Up to 4 people are included with your SELF. session.

Yes. Additional people can be added for $35 per person.

Yes. Guests 16 and older may attend without a parent or guardian. Anyone under 16 must have a parent or guardian present.

Yes. Pets are welcome. They must remain supervised and should be leashed or in a carrier when they are not being photographed. Clients are responsible for cleanup and any damage caused by their pet.

Yes, in designated areas only. Food and drinks must stay away from photography equipment and shooting areas.

Alcohol is permitted for guests who are legally allowed to consume it. The booking client is responsible for everyone in their group.

Yes. Balloons are welcome. Please take them with you when your session is over.

Smoking, vaping, candles, open flames, glitter, and confetti are not permitted. Paint and body oil require approval from SELF. staff before your session.

Bring your outfits, shoes, accessories, touch-up products, inspiration, and any personal props you want to use. Most importantly, come ready to shoot.

Yes. You’ll have a private area to change during your session. Outfit changes are part of your reserved session time.

We suggest having your hair and makeup done before arriving. Your session time begins at your scheduled time, so getting ready in the studio will take away from your shooting time. If you’re doing multiple looks, we also suggest arriving with your first look already on so you can start shooting right away.

Yes. We suggest bringing anything you may need for quick touch-ups, especially if you’re doing multiple looks.

Absolutely. Save your poses, looks, or inspiration to your phone so you can reference them while you shoot.
